Professor Sheen has expertise in advanced laparoscopic 'keyhole' surgery and undertakes procedures for the treatment of all types of hernias both incisional and inguinal hernias & the sportsman’s groin (inguinal disruption) using these techniques.

Professor Sheen was appointed a Consultant General Surgeon in December 2005 at Manchester Royal Infirmary and has to date, undertaken over 1000 inguinal hernia repairs as well as over 100 complex incisional hernias, 60-80% of which he undertakes laparoscopically.

Professor Sheen has expertise in managing patients with chronic groin pain, a condition which is difficult to treat and can result from muscular injuries or due to the effects of a previous hernia repair.
